As president and Chief Executive officer, Moe drives the company’s vision and ongoing growth efforts. With over 30 years of business acumen and as a seasoned developer of real estate projects along the west coast, Moe brings a comprehensive understanding of real estate and financing to Canguard. His passion lies in not just financial success but also in the personal growth and triumphs of his clients, making him a trusted advisor in the business community.

As the Chief Financial Officer, Jessie oversees asset management and expenditures while balancing investor returns with sound mortgage lending. With his own accounting firm, Jessie has been practicing in British Columbia since 1994 as a chartered professional accountant. Jessie’s passion is giving back to his community and he currently serves as a volunteer on the UBC Board of Governors in the role of chair of the Audit Committee.

As Executive VicePresident, Henry is crucial to Canguard’s business development strategy. With cumulative real estate asset transactions of over $1B in the past 30 years, Henry has a passion for residential and commercial acquisitions. In addition to being a founder at Canguard, Henry has a vast corporate portfolio including property development. Henry’s extensive experience helps ensure Canguard Mortgage Investment has a high-quality and diversified investment portfolio.

Pamela Simon, Office Manager, joined the firm in 2019, and has been an integral member of the team, with cross-functional experience between both investment and mortgage divisions. With her deep knowledge of our mortgage loan portfolio and operations, she plays an integral role in the day-to-day office management of the firm.

Mani Ebrahimi, VP, Head of Mortgages, oversees the firm’s fully integrated mortgage division, which includes mortgage origination, underwriting, account management, and syndication in British Columbia and Alberta. A Simon Fraser University Business Administration graduate with a concentration in Mangement Information Systems, Mani brings together business acumen and credit structuring expertise to drive growth while maintaining operational discipline. Under his leadership, the mortgage portfolio has experienced exponential growth with cross-provincial expansion.

Sadaf Tavakoli, Mortgage Analyst, a licensed mortgage broker, joined the firm in 2024 after over six years in the banking industry and nearly four years as a licensed mortgage broker and underwriter with a high-volume brokerage. Sadaf is responsible for analyzing and underwriting mortgage investment opportunities across multi-asset classes.

Abdul Arif, Paralegal, joined the firm in 2025 after working for two prominent full-service law firms in the Greater Vancouver region. Abdul is the primary point of contact for all legal matters, navigating the full mortgage fulfillment and securitization functions. Abdul holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, Major in Political Science, and Certificate in Legal Administrative Studies from Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

April Jin, Mortgage Analyst, a licensed mortgage broker, joined the firm in 2025 after working as an independent mortgage broker for five years and at a private mortgage investment corporation for over seven years. April is responsible for analyzing and underwriting mortgage investment opportunities across multi-asset classes. April holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia.

Qihang Zhang, Mortgage Administrator, joined the firm in 2025 after over four years working at the global commercial real estate services firm, CBRE, Shanghai and Chengdu offices, holding analyst and research management roles. Qihang is responsible for the administration of the firm’s mortgage portfolio. Qihang holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in international economics from prominent universities in China, as well as a Master in Finance from EADA Business School Barcelona.
